St Philip's Church Building Reopening Plans

Updated  20/03/2021

Following the recent announcement by the government over the potential for easing of COVID-19 restrictions in England, St Philip's Parochial Church Council (PCC) has agreed that the Church Building will reopen for in-person public Sunday worship from Sunday 18 April 2021. Further details about social distancing, use of masks, number of worshippers, etc., will be made available once further guidance has been received from the Church of England and the government.

Holding physical services on Sundays only, will continue until Trinity Sunday on 30th May, when there will be a joint benefice Service. From June onwards we hope to return to a full-service pattern of midweek as well as Sunday services.

This means Easter, like last year, is not to be, and it is with great regret that we as a PCC felt it was right to remain closed during this period and then to open up gradually in the period after Easter. All our Easter services and activities will again be online. Please see the Easter Online page for details.

We continue to offer a range of online and telephone support (see below). We know that some people are not confident with IT and new software. If you would welcome some support with accessing these online resources, please contact the Benefice PA on and we’ll try to put together some information sheets.

If you are in need of practical assistance with shopping, etc, or you know someone who is, please contact "Your Scholes" (0113 289 2437 / 07512 314312), to request help.

Finally, please contact Rev. Andy or Alan Stanley if you feel in need of spiritual or emotional support and we will do what we can to help.
