On each day of Holy Week, there will be extended reflections, which will include spiritual music and (on Monday–Wednesday and Good Friday) finish with Compline. On four of the days, it will help you engage fully with the reflection by having the following items with you:
Monday:Perfume or smelly hand cream. Tuesday: A bundle of coins Wednesday: Paper, pen, matches and a safe place to burn the paper. Thursday: nothing required. Friday:Some nails or rough wood.
Holy Week - Eight Days of Prayer
Between 27 March and 3 April, we will be reflecting on and praying about the story of Holy Week as told in Luke, chapter 23. Download the 'Eight Days of Prayer' sheet here.
Holy Week - Stations of the Cross installations
There will be a Stations of the Cross installation in both Barwick and Thorner churchyards for people to access as they walk through the grounds. Reflecting on the stations is an act of spiritual discipline during the holiest week of the year.
Good Friday - Messy Church
Join us for our Good Friday Online Messy Church service here. You will need :
a paper plate
a small potato-sized stone
soil and seeds
lollipop sticks, plus bits and bobs to decorate the stick as a cross
cornflakes, chocolate and mini-eggs
glue and sticky tape
colouring pens and paint
